Installation of Rev. Kevin Newell as Rector of Emmanuel

This was the induction ceremony in which the dean, representatives of the congregation, and representatives of the diocesan clergy presented symbolic gifts to the new rector of Emmanuel, Fr. Kevin. The Book of Common Prayer calls for the presentations to include a Bible for proclaiming the Word, a vessel of water for baptizing, a stole or symbol of the new minister's order, a book of prayers, olive oil for healing and reconciliation, the keys of the church, the Constitution and Canons of the Church, and bread and wine for the eucharist. It was a joyful day, filled with laughter and love!
