Emmanuel's Vestry

In addition to big-picture planning and follow through, the Vestry collaborates with clergy to ensure sound and responsible governance of the parish. They nominate prospective individuals for holy orders, and see that the parish is a safe environment for parishioners and employees alike, is fully-insured, fiscally responsible, and much more. Emmanuel’s Vestry is a body of nine elected lay delegates who serve three-year staggered terms. Vestry members are the foremost lay leaders of the congregation, serving under the supervision of the rector and the authority of the Bishop of the Diocese of Virginia.
